Grandma Jane's 2nd Year Preschool
January 17, 2017
Dear Preschool Two Families,
January is half gone! The extra minutes of daylight each day are welcomed. Being able to play outside any time in January is a bonus everyone enjoys, and something we take advantage of whenever conditions allow.
The children’s conceptual growth is as noticeable as their physical growth. We are attaining our curriculum standards at a rewarding pace. Literary time finds us able to listen to longer stories, pay more attention to details, predict outcomes and retell stories in proper sequences. Our calendar/weather part of the day brings several appropriate comments and observations. In math, the children demonstrate a good grasp of number concepts to 5 (or more), using ordinal numbers and positional words quite often. Fine and large motor skills continue to develop at individual levels.
We will finish most of our winter activities this week and begin a unit Bible stories. This is a unit that is both enjoyable and requires our more mature thought processes.
Looking ahead: January 23-28 is Lutheran School Week. Many fun activities are planned. The children will sing at church January 29th at 10:15. We look forward to sharing our love and enthusiasm with the congregation.
We are accepting registrations for the 2017-2018 school year. Each student must re-register to guarantee a spot for next year.
In God’s love,
Grandma Jane and Mrs. Eagen
